Dr Jenine Bothma has a PhD in Environmental Management with extensive experience in the environmental field. After graduation in 1988, she started working as an Environmental Officer in the Sub directorate: Hazardous Materials with the National Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism until 1997 and consequently has acquired extensive skills and exposure relevant to the management and organization of government departments. From 1999 to 2005 she was appointed as Environmental Manager for the South African National Roads Agency Limited where she was responsible for the management of the environmental section at the Agency. During this period she obtained a PhD in Environmental Management with the thesis “The Development of an Environmental Management System for the South African National Roads Agency Limited based on the ISO 14 001 Environmental Management System Standard”. Dr Bothma is also registered as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner with the Interim Certification Board for Environmental Assessment Practitioners of South Africa. Dr Bothma also plays a key advisory role with regard to all environmental aspects to industry as a whole.
Mr Paul Bothma is in the process of completing his Masters Degree in Environmental Management and has attended courses on Project Management for EIA, Public Participation, Pollution and Rehabilitation and Social Impact Assessment. He has gained extensive experience in the field of linear developments and has been involved in the upgrade of various National Roads in South Africa to date. Work has been conducted and successfully completed for clients, contractors and various spheres of government. In addition to linear projects he also gained extensive experience in with regard to reporting for borrow pits and quarries and asphalt plants and Section 24G applications.
Chameleon Environmental’s team consists of environmental specialists that are tasked with the delivery of environmental results. The company is managed by Dr Jenine Bothma and Mr Paul Bothma.
